If you notice dandruff in your hair or on your clothes time and again and your scalp is easily irritated or reddened, your hair is type S – dandruff-prone.
Dandruff occurs when the scalp's regenerative process has lost its natural balance. During this process, new skin cells are formed continuously and the topmost skin layers flake off. Normally, this process remains invisible. Only when too many new skin cells are formed will too many old cells be simultaneously discarded with the result of pesky dandruff. The causes for this change are diverse and often difficult to determine. In many cases, only a dermatologist can help.
